Il s'agit ici du compte pour l'année 1714 de Craven Peyton, warden de l'atelier monétaire. En plus de marquer la séparation qui existe dans la pratique des offices de l'atelier entre Warden et maître, l'un ayant la charge et la dépense des bâtiments et le second la reponsabilité des dépenses de monnayage pour le royaume, ces comptes annuels nous permettent de voir l'activité et la vie d'un atelier monétaire royal au XVIIIe siècle en dehors du simple fait de la production monétaire pour le souverain.
